** PURPOSE OF THE SURVEY **
The data collected in this survey will be analyzed in the bachelor's thesis at VAMK - Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (Vaasan ammattikorkeakoulu) in Finland. The thesis's topic relates to "Blockchain technology and auditing - The awareness and opinion of auditors." Therefore, the survey's purpose is to analyze the awareness, opinions, and expectations of auditors in Finland and the EU about the applications of blockchain in accounting and auditing.

** CONTRIBUTION & OUTCOME **
Many studies have shown how blockchain technology can benefit the world, especially the accounting/auditing industry. However, the idea of applying blockchain to audit in practice still raises many questions and concerns.
The result of this study will contribute some insights and information for this new application.

** TERMS OF USE **
1. All of the answers in this survey will be treated anonymously and confidentially. The answers will not be exposed to anyone except the author and will only be used for this study. The participants will be asked for consent for any other purpose.

2. The survey is not a quiz/test, so there is no right or wrong answer. Please do not research for any additional information to answer these questions. Again, the goal is to understand at which level auditors understand blockchain and its applications to audit.

PART II - UNDERSTANDING ABOUT BLOCKCHAIN

Please do not research for any additional information to answer these questions. The purpose of this is to understand at which level auditors understand blockchain and its application to audit.

13. Blockchain is the technology behind Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies. *

14. Blockchain is an immutable digital ledger. Once the data/transaction is entered inside the blockchain, it's complicated to change or delete it. *

15. Blockchain can be decentralized and distributed. There are no intermediaries or third parties in blockchains (like banks). The database in the blockchain is shared, synchronized, and accessed by many people. *

16. Each block in a blockchain concludes data, the block's hash, and the previous block's hash. *

17. Hash is always unique to each block and identifies a block and all of its content. So changing something inside the block will cause the hash to change. *

18. Miners are particular peer nodes that execute validation and consensus processes in the blockchain. *

19. Programs that run on the blockchain with conditional information (if/when...then...) are called "smart contracts". Practical applications of smart contracts include insurance, supply chain, and logistics, financial derivatives, etc.) *

20. Blockchain is distributed, decentralized, immutability. So applying blockchain to auditing can help improve governance, transparency, and trust in accounting and auditing.*

21. Blockchain applications make it feasible to conduct continuous auditing due to real-time access to transaction records. Applying blockchain to audit can help reduce the time and risk of human errors.*

22. Smart contracts can help to reduce the risk of error and manipulation in auditing and accounting. *

23. Although blockchain's characteristics show transactions will be highly secured, fraud is still possible.*

24. "A transaction recorded in blockchain may still be: a) Unauthorized, fraudulent, or illegal; b) Executed between related parties; c) Linked to a side agreement that is "off-chain"; d) Incorrectly classified in the financial statements". *

25. Applying blockchain to audit requires professional understanding and skills about blockchain, and IT controls. *
